This deceptively basic-looking box proves to be a great bridge between analog and digital audio/video signals, supporting input and output from all the major formats.
This multi-format converter can:
- Convert composite, S-Video, or component video into an 8-bit digital stream.
- Convert a digital stream into composite, s-video, or a component analog signal
(Digital I/O can take the form of FireWire or SDI).
- Convert analog audio (via balanced or unbalanced inputs) into FireWire or AES/EBU at 32, 44.1 or 48kHz sampling rates - and vice versa
- Provide deck control via the RS422 port of an analog deck via FireWire output from a non-linear system. - Restripe the time code via RS422 port, preserving the output analog timecode in the digital stream coming through the FireWire.
