The Panasonic HD1200A HD VTR plays all DVCPRO formats (both NTSC and PAL), including DVCPRO HD-LP, and can downconvert HD signals for output as SD signals, allowing its use as both an HD and SD viewer. With its 1080/24p (25p) conversion and output function for Varicam sources, the AJ-HD1200A also meets needs of todays HD cinema production.
We have both the HD-SDI and Firewire option boards installed for versatility. With the Firewire board, the AJ-HD1200A HD becomes the world's first VTR to offer HD input and output via Firewire digital interface. This allows the AJ-HD1200A to connect to next generation NLE (Non-Linear Editing) systems, or IEEE 1394 equipped Video Servers.
The HD1200A records in HD-LP format, Panasonic's 9 micron format, allowing tapes to last twice as long as before.
