P2 is short for "Professional Plug-In" and is a professional digital video format introduced by Panasonic, and especially tailored to ENG applications. This is a whole new innovative approach to nonlinear aquisition. On the Panasonic AG-HVX200, you can use the P2 card to capture and store DV / DVCPro / DVCPro50 and DVCProHD footage.
The P2 card is essentially a RAID of SD memory cards with an LSI controller tightly packaged in a die-cast PCMCIA enclosure, so data transfer rate increases as memory capacity increases.
The amount of footage you can store on a single P2 card will depend on your recording format.
