Filmmakers Collaborative Presents From Liberty to Captivity: A Fundraising Success Story Workshop

Join Filmmakers Collaborative and FC member, Debbie Wright, and learn how she went from private citizen to passionate activist, raising over $600,000 for her first feature-length documentary, FROM LIBERTY TO CAPTIVITY.

With Filmmakers Collaborative as a fiscal sponsor—and with no prior fundraising experience—Debbie managed to raise close to $550,000 in individual donations and $120,000 from foundations to producer her film. She is considering various distribution options and is now traveling around with her film as she continues to raise additional funding.  Click here to learn more.

Join the MPC for an evening of inspiring stories told by women in the film and media industry about pivotal moments and unique challenges that led them to accomplishments and new places in their works and careers.

Through sharing these stories, we hope to inspire connections and common ground through a deeper community conversation around the important role of mentorship in the industry.

Emerson College “It’s All True” Documentary Showcase

“It’s All True” is Emerson College’s Documentary Film Festival that features outstanding documentary work by Emerson students. Filmmaker Ross McElwee will kick off this year’s festival with a screening of his film “Bright Leaves” Wednesday, April 5th, and will host the student showcase the following evening. Both events will be held at 7pm in the Bright Family Screening Room.
