WGBH is proud to host Academy Award-winning sound designer Mark Mangini, who will present a talk and film screening at WGBH’s 4K Yawkey Theater on Friday, September 28th, starting at 5:30pm.  At this special event, sponsored by Avid ProTools and Rule Boston Camera, Mark will discuss the process of designing sound for film using scenes from the Oscar-nominated BLADE RUNNER 2049 to illustrate his methodologies.  Blade Runner 2049:  “And the sound design is so remarkable that it’s almost overwhelming—this is a film you don’t passively watch, you experience it.” –Brian Tallerico, Editor of RogerEbert.com

All guests are invited to stay for a screening of the feature film BLADE RUNNER 2049 (2:44) with its stunning 7.1 surround soundtrack.  Refreshments will be provided before the event along with an opportunity to meet Mark’s Oscar for Mad Max Fury Road.
